Julie Wienberg is the Director of Program Development at Denver International Airport (DEN). She has 20 years of experience in design and construction management, and has focused the last 15 years on transportation and aviation-related developments. Throughout her career, Julie has been involved in complex developments at both major U.S. hubs and regional airports where she has facilitated the integration of transportation and community at many levels. In her current role at DEN, Julie is responsible for evaluating, developing and initiating major projects and programs for the airport. She is currently leading the first “Public-Private Partnership” (P3) procurement for DEN with the redevelopment of the airport’s Great Hall. As part of this program she is working with joint TSA and DEN team to develop one of the first pilot studies for TSA’s new “Innovation Lane” initiative at DEN. She previously served as the deputy program manager for DEN’s Hotel and Transit Center, which includes the new Westin Denver International Airport hotel and a commuter rail and bus transit center. Julie was responsible for oversight of design and construction contracts and activities on that project.
Prior to joining DEN in early 2014, Julie worked as the Director of Design for Aviation, with HNTB Corp. In her years at HNTB, she led numerous, diverse teams for aviation clients on a variety of project types and delivery methods. Julie is an NCARB registered architect, with degrees in architecture and planning from Kansas State University and a LEED accredited professional. Julie and her adventuring family and friends love to travel and explore the world, learn about culture through experience and pursue creative projects. Julie is active as a mentor and participates in a number of professional and volunteer organizations.Back to speakers
