Vice Chancellor, Planning and Budget

Daniel joined the Merced campus of the University of California in December 2012 to establish a new Division of Planning and Budget. Reporting to the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, Daniel serves as the campus' chief financial officer. With 13 years of investment banking experience, Daniel brings UC Merced significant experience raising debt capital for government clients in the high-grade taxable and tax-exempt markets. Daniel served as the head of JP Morgan's surface transportation business in the Western United States. The UC Merced 2020 P3 project reached financial close in 2016, with Daniel’s knowledge of the market a vital tool in the university’s armory when negotiating the terms of the deal.
